Drug Awareness Speech
District Drug Awareness Speech Contest
The Drug Awareness Speech Contest is an annual competition allowing student participants the opportunity to research, organize and deliver an oral presentation on a given topic related to Drug or Substance abuse. Abuse of tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs is costly to our Nation, exacting more than $700 billion annually in costs related to crime, lost work productivity and health care. Participation in the contest allows the students to explore the issues around drug abuse and addiction, and offer creative and viable solutions. The scholarship award for the winner of this contest is $1,000. The runner-up will receive $500.
