Water & Ice for Lake Charles

After conversations with the District Governor in District 2-S1 at this time, we have decided to redirect our efforts to providing water and ice to Lake Charles.

During Hurricane Harvey Lions from all over the country came to our aide sending semi-trucks full of supplies to help us repair and rebuild.  It is our turn to help our fellow Lions and their neighbors in Louisiana.  Lake Charles is still without power and water and keeping food cold and having potable water is a huge necessity.

On Monday with coordination from the Lake Charles Police Department and Captain Pruitt.  Our two disaster relief trailers supported by members from our District will be delivering pallets of bottled water and bags of ice.

What we need from our Clubs and our members are donations to offset these costs.  The estimated cost is $1000 per trip.  We hope that we raise enough funds that we can make this trip again in the middle of next week.  Ideally, each member will donate $5 for a case of water, $2 for a bag of ice, or $10 to cover one of each and the gas for the vehicles going.

Please send all pledges of donations to our District Treasurer Lion Larry Stewart.  Make checks payable to District 2-S4 with Hurricane Laura in the memo line.  Checks can be mailed to:
