More Examples of Serving

Here is another example of two things:  1) Taking a negative and making a positive  2) Thinking outside the box and maintaining social distancing by having a drive through food donation.

Those in the area please participate.  Others, please “leverage” this idea!

Below is a letter from Nicole Larson, Development Coordinator of the Brazosport Cares Food Pantry

Please help us spread the word about our Souper Bowl of Caring event this year.

Typically, each year, we partner up with HEB for the event. However, due to COVID, the Houston Food Bank has opted out of the event with their partners HEB, Kroger, and Randalls. Brazosport Cares continues to strive that no one should face the day hungry, and due to COVID-19, we are serving more clients and want to continue helping families who are struggling. Food donations have drastically decreased, so we hope to strum up a few donations through a Souper Bowl of Caring event.

Brazosport Cares has teamed up with the Brazos Mall and Texas Roadhouse in Lake Jackson for a few events to help raise awareness, food donations, and money to help our neighbors in Brazoria County.

  • Friday, February 5, 2021, during operational hours- Give back night at Texas Roadhouse in Lake Jackson- must tell server they are there for Brazosport Cares Food Pantry
  • Saturday, February 6, 2021, during operational hours- Give back night at Texas Roadhouse in Lake Jackson- must tell server they are there for Brazosprot Cares Food Pantry
  • Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 10 am to 5 pm- Drive-Thru Food Drive with the Brazos Mall located in the parking lot next to Ashley’s Furniture.
