The Pearland Lions Club is going to make a $10,000 contribution to the Polar Bear Challenge.
The exciting news is, we also challenged our District Governor, Bill Gray, to “take the plunge” and he accepted…. IF WE RAISE ANOTHER $5,000!
Together, you and I can send our 70 year old, District Governor, down a 35 feet tall and 166 feet long water slide into the icy Guadalupe River if we can raise an additional $5000 to increase the building fund of Texas Lions Camp. I am writing today to ask you to be as generous as possible as a sponsor so that District 2-S4 reaches our goal.
My name is Buck Stevens, and I currently serve as your 2S4 Elected East District Director for Texas Lions Camp. As one of two Lions Camp Directors in District 2-S4, it is my privilege and responsibility to communicate with clubs to share the good things going on at your camp and to encourage Lions to take advantage of opportunities to support camp programs.
The Board of Texas Lions Camp has been working to address the condition of the bunkhouses and other buildings at the camp. Most of the bunkhouses at the camp are more than 65 years old and many need to be replaced. Last summer, the camp was damaged by two heavy storms that destroyed bunkhouse 2 and caused significant damage to several other buildings. The damage means work needs to start as soon as possible to continue services to our campers.
You can help support CAMPaign Vision 2020 and Beyond through many opportunities to give to the camp and designate your gift to the building fund. Today, I ask you to consider sponsoring, promoting, and participating in the Polar Bear Challenge. The challenge directly benefits the building fund and as added benefit, we will see many of our executive committee members take a plunge into the frigid waters of the Guadalupe River on January 1st.
You can help the camp and sponsor Governor Gray by:
In the Donation Categories, choose the Polar Bear Plunge Challenge
In the Team drop down, select DG Billy Gray (2-S4)
or you can mail a check to:
Texas Lions Camp (put Polar Bear DG Billy Gray in the memo)
4100 San Antonio Highway
Kerrville, TX 78028
Check must be received by Wednesday, December 30, 2020 to count toward the district total.
Thanks to you, the future of Texas Lions Camp is bright.
Thank you for your commitment and service to Texas Lions Camp.
Sincerely yours,
Lion Buck Stevens
