Kemah Lions Thanksgiving Meal Distribution

On Friday, November 19, 2021, 6 Kemah Lions met again at the Kemah Community Center (800 Harris, Kemah, TX.  77565) to distribute the Turkeys and groceries to the families on the Stewart Elementary list.  We have a donor who donate the turkeys and 3 schools held a food drive to collect canned goods, stuffing, cereal and other non-perishable food items.  We were able to provide 8 bags of groceries and one turkey to each family.  The Lions sorted the grocery bags and turkeys and set them out so each family could drive up and then the Lions would load their car.     22 families came by for these Thanksgiving meals.  3 other families asked if we had extra food and we were able to provide them with a turkey and bags of food.  The families were all so appreciative of the food items.  We had extra bags of canned items and we were able to contact Lion Rob from the League City Lions Club to come and pick up the extra bags.  5 complete meals were sent to the Lighthouse ministries for their Food distribution program.  This was a great day and even though it was cold that day it warmed our hearts to help our community.
