KEMAH LIONS COLLECT THANKSGIVING DONATIONS FROM THE SCHOOLS

On Monday November 15, 2021, Lion Laura and Lion Scott Stegman collected non perishable Thanksgiving meals from Bauerschlag Elementary, Stewart Elementary and the Kemah Fire Department.  Lion Bill collected non perishable Thanksgiving meal fixings from Bayside school.  The counselors and students of these schools organized a Food Drive with the students.  The students collected food from all the grade levels to donate for the families in the Stewart Elementary area who will go without Thanksgiving meals and food for the other days during the Thanksgiving break.  This is an event that the Kemah Lions have organized with the counselors for several years now.   The foods collected will be sorted into bags for thanksgiving meals for 30-50 families.  Each family will also get a 12-14 pound Turkey.  These students will get extra food so they will not go hungry during the Thanksgiving break.  Lion Sylvia, Lion Ricia, Lion Barbara, Lion Denny and Debbie were at the Community Center to help unload the food and place on tables for sorting.   The Kemah Lions will meet on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Kemah Community Center at 6pm.  They will sort and bag the groceries by families.

The Kemah Lions want to say “Thank You” to all who helped with their time and donation at this time.
