TOPIC:  Prescription Drug Abuse:  What Should You Know?  Explore the types of drugs frequently abused, how they are acquired and distributed, who are the abusers, the dangers for the abuser and how we can prevent misuse.

DIABETES AWARENESS ESSAY CONTEST

TOPIC:  Using Knowledge of Nutrition and Digestion to Manage Prediabetes and Diabetes

What specialized knowledge should ALL people acquire about the nutrition and the process of digestion in order to assist themselves or others who are diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes (Type 2 and Type 1) to manage their conditions more effectively,…and in what ways can young people today lead the way to make this need for this specialized knowledge a priority in our society?

OUTSTANDING YOUTH CONTEST

ESSAY TOPIC:  What I Can Do to Promote Americanism and Love of Country.  Essay to be a minimum of 750 words and maximum of 1000 words.

  1. Change grade point average from 15% to 5% of total score
  2. Change essay from 10% to 15% of total score
  3. Change biographical information statement, community service, leadership experience/participation experience from 30% to 35% of total score
  4. 3 letters of recommendation will stay at 15% of total score

Personal interview will stay at 30% of total score
