I would like to remind everyone that although we are not currently meeting in person, we still have Lions business to conduct. Most importantly – officer elections.
One of the biggest challenges is preparing the district directory and it is very important that each club still hold officer elections no later than May 31st.

According to Lions International:

“Unless prohibited under a club’s constitution and by-laws, the Standard Club By-Laws permits all Lions clubs to conduct meetings via alternate meeting formats. This allows each Lions club to choose a method of conducting elections that is suitable for those members. This can be via phone, e-mail, a combination of the two, or any other method that is acceptable to the Lions club members.”

Clubs can use the above-mentioned means to compile the list of the 2020-2021 officers. Once the list is compiled you send it to all club members. (Or phone those members who do not have an e-mail account.) This will count as your first reading. If there are no objections or changes you need to send it out to all members a second time. This would be your second reading. Finally, those officers would be voted on. This can all be accomplished in a weeks’ time.

Or you can also use the web site –

After your club has elected officers, please go out to the LCI website and put in the names of the new officers. I would also like you to send me an e-mail, so I know your club has elected officers for next year. Unfortunately, if your club does not hold elections and input the new officers in my LCI then the information about your club will be the list of the previous officers.

If you have questions or concerns regarding your club operations or elections, please contact LCI via e-mail at clubofficers@lionsclubs .org.

Please, please find a way for your club to hold officer elections by May 31st so we can get correct information in the district directory. The sooner the better.

Thank you.

Cabinet Secretary Nancy Gray
